J Strength Cond Res 35(2): 300–309, 2021—This study examined the force-velocity tested possibility determining relative loading intensity percentage 1 repetition maximum (%1RM) 3 Thirty male top-level athletes from 2 sports (National Team rugby union players professional mixed martial arts fighters) were submitted to dynamic strength assessments free bench pull, bent-over barbell row, Smith machine after standard procedures encompassing lifts performed 40 100% 1RM. The mean velocity, propulsive peak velocity measured all attempts. Linear regression analyses establish relationships between measures bar velocities %1RM. actual (obtained during assessments) predicted 1RM values (based on predictive equations) for each exercise compared using a paired t-test. In exercises, scores—based variables—were not their respective values. close linear distinct %1RM (coefficient determination ≥80%, experimental conditions) allow precise load strength, enable coaches scientists use outputs rapidly accurately monitor daily basis.

Force-velocity relationship of myogenically active arterioles.
We compared the shortening velocity of smooth muscle in arterioles that had low or high levels of myogenic tone or norepinephrine (NE)-induced tone. We hypothesized that enhanced myogenic tone of arterioles reflects an enhanced maximum velocity of shortening of arteriolar smooth muscle in a way that is different from that produced by NE. These concepts are untested assumptions of arteriolar mec...
متن کاملReliability of Force-Velocity Tests in Cycling and Cranking Exercises in Men and Women
The present study examined the reliability of the force-velocity relationship during cycling and arm cranking exercises in active males and females. Twenty male and seventeen female physical education students performed three-session tests with legs and three-session tests with arms on a friction-loaded ergometer on six different sessions in a randomized order. The reliability of maximal power ...
متن کاملInstantaneous force-velocity-length relationship in diaphragmatic sarcomere.
The simultaneous analysis of muscle force, length, velocity, and time has been shown to precisely characterize the mechanical performance of isolated striated muscle. We tested the hypothesis that the three-dimensional force-velocity-length relationship reflects mechanical properties of sarcomeres. In hamster diaphragm strips, instantaneous sarcomere length (SL) and muscle length were simultane...
متن کاملA force-velocity relationship and coordination patterns in overarm throwing.
A force-velocity relationship in overarm throwing was determined using ball weights varying from 0.2 to 0.8 kg. Seven experienced handball players were filmed at 240 frames per second. Velocity of joints of the upper extremity and ball together with the force on the ball were derived from the data. A statistically significant negative relationship between force and maximal ball velocity, as wel...
