چکیده

Today, advances in cross-sectional imaging have led to the detection and early recognition of incidental/focal liver lesions (FCL). In approximately 17,000 cases chest CT, incidental were found 6% [1]. general, FCL consists hepatocytes, biliary epithelium, mesenchymal tissue, connective or metastasized cells from distant sites. Most are benign, some may require careful management treatment. evaluating lesion, patient's clinical history, underlying disease age factor should be considered. can detected at a rate 10-30% normal healthy chronic patients, even oncology patients with malignancy, FCLs highly benign (50-80%)

Approaching focal liver lesions.

Focal liver lesions are defined as solid or liquid-containing masses foreign to the normal anatomy of the liver that may be told apart from the latter organ using imaging techniques. Their nature is widely varying, and may range from benign lesions with an indolent clinical course to aggressive malignant tumors (Table I). They are common findings as a result of the ever increasing use of imagin...

MRI of Focal Liver Lesions

Magnetic resonance imaging, MRI has more advantages than ultrasound, computed tomography, CT, positron emission tomography, PET, or any other imaging modality in diagnosing focal hepatic masses. With a combination of basic T1 and T2 weighted sequences, diffusion weighted imaging, DWI, and hepatobiliary gadolinium contrast agents, that is gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) and gadoxetic acid (Gd-...

Imaging focal liver lesions in children

There is a wide differential diagnosis of focal liver lesions in children including inflammatory lesions, cystic lesions and benign and malignant neoplasms. Imaging confirms the presence of a focal liver lesion, assesses the extent of disease and characterises the lesion. Initial ultrasound findings will determine if other imaging modalities are required, which include nuclear medicine (NM), co...
