Influence of Health Anxiety on Road Runners' Attitudes toward Smart Wearable Devices
The purpose of this study was to investigate road runners’ customer behavior regarding smart wearable devices through an extension of the Technology Acceptance Model. A total of 314 road runners participated in the study, and a regression model was formulated to measure the relationships among variables in the conceptual model. The results revealed that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulne...
متن کاملSmart Textiles Toward a Wearable Motion System
This paper presents the development of an innovative measuring system devoted to the human movement analysis using smart textiles that are realized with electrically conductive elastomer composites (CEs). CEs show piezoresistive properties when a deformation is applied and in several applications CEs can be integrated into fabric or other flexible substrate as a strain sensor. Moreover, integra...
متن کاملToward Predicting Secure Environments for Wearable Devices
Wearable devices have become more common for the average consumer. As devices need to operate with low power, many devices use simplified security measures to secure the data during transmission. While Bluetooth, the primary method of communication, includes certain security measures as part of the format, they are insufficient to fully secure the connection and the data transmitted. Users must...
متن کاملA hybrid piezoelectric structure for wearable nanogenerators.
A hybrid-fiber nanogenerator comprising a ZnO nanowire array, PVDF polymer and two electrodes is presented. Depending on the bending or spreading action of the human arm, at an angle of ∼90°, the hybrid fiber reaches electrical outputs of ∼0.1 V and ∼10 nA cm(-2) . The unique structure of the hybrid fiber may inspire future research in wearable energy-harvesting technology.
متن کاملWearable machine learning for recognizing and controlling smart devices
Augmenting people with wearable technology can enhance their natural sensing, actuation, and communication capabilities. Interaction with smart devices can become easier and less explicit when combining multiple wearables instead of using device-specific apps on a single smartphone. We demonstrate a prototype for smart device control by combining quasi real-time visual device recognition on a s...
