چکیده
One-part or “just add water” alkali activated materials (AAMs) have attracted a lot of attention thanks to the use solid alkaline activators that makes these more suitable commercialization compared conventional AAMs (two-part). This is mainly because large quantities caustic solutions should be handled for producing AAMs. So, one-part great potential in-situ applications. However, heat curing (<100 °C) has been demonstrated best condition obtain optimized performances study investigates how high strength mortars cured at room temperature, considering newly developed mix design, precursor pre-treatments and time. The mechanical (i.e., elasticity modulus, compressive flexural strength) were reported, as well physical properties, in terms water absorption, open porosity pore size distribution microstructure (by means FEG-SEM observations coupled with elemental analysis by EDS FT-IR measurements). Class F fly ash potassium hydroxide (KOH) anhydrous sodium metasilicate. It was found can achieved activating coal KOH metasilicate temperature. In particular, temperature-cured obtained pre-treated exhibited performance similar those heat-cured (at 70 °C, tested after 7 days), reaching (Rc) greater than 60 MPa 28 days when mechanochemical activation applied.

متن کاملMicrostructural Characteristics of Geopolymers Based on Alkali-Activated Fly Ash
Aluminosilicate geopolymers with a high silica molar ratio have been prepared by mixing Croatian coal-ash (ASTM Class F) and sodium silicate solution (water glass, technical grade). The samples were cured at 85 °C for 8 h and 24 h in different experimental conditions. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS) have been use...
متن کاملSuperplasticizer Addition to Carbon Fly Ash Geopolymers Activated at Room Temperature
Present concerns about global warming due to the greenhouse emissions in the atmosphere have pushed the cement industry to research alternatives to ordinary Portland cement (OPC). Geopolymer binder may constitute a possible breakthrough in the development of sustainable materials: understanding the effectiveness and the influences of superplasticizers on geopolymer systems is one of the essenti...
متن کاملAcid Resistance of Fly ash based Geopolymer mortars
Geopolymers are a new promising binder manufactured by activation of a solid aluminosilicate source material with a highly alkaline activating solution and aided by heat. Fly ash, considered to be a waste material is rich in silica and alumina and hence can be used as a source material for manufacture of Geopolymers. These binders have been reported to achieve high early strength and better dur...
