چکیده
We study single-phase flow in a fractured porous medium at macroscopic scale that allows us to model fractures individually. The is governed by Darcy’s law both and matrix. derive new mixed-dimensional model, where are represented -dimensional interfaces between subdomains for . Coupling Fluid Flow with Porous Media Flow
The transport of substances back and forth between surface water and groundwater is a very serious problem. We study herein the mathematical model of this setting consisting of the Stokes equations in the fluid region coupled with the Darcy equations in the porous medium, coupled across the interface by the Beavers–Joseph–Saffman conditions. We prove existence of weak solutions and give a compl...
متن کاملflow discharge in bottom intakes with porous media
abstract bottom intake is one of the most appropriate systems for diverting discharge in steep rivers. bottom intake with porous media is a new system of diverting discharge which can be replaced by bottom rack intakes. to investigate the hydraulic flow characteristics on diverted discharge of this intake, an experimental model was designed in which the inflow, diverted discharge and remained f...
متن کاملAlgebraic multiscale method for flow in heterogeneous porous media with embedded discrete fractures (F-AMS)
This paper introduces an Algebraic MultiScale method for simulation of flow in heterogeneous porous media with embedded discrete Fractures (F-AMS). First, multiscale coarse grids are independently constructed for both porous matrix and fracture networks. Then, a map between coarseand fine-scale is obtained by algebraically computing basis functions with local support. In order to extend the loc...
متن کاملMathematical Models of Flow in Porous Media
In this chapter a general model for the two-phase fluid flow in porous media is presented, together with its simplified form, known as the Richards equation, which is applicable (under specific assumptions) to describe water flow in the vadose zone. In each case the governing equations are formulated at the Darcy scale, using the capillary pressure–saturation relationship and an empirical exten...
متن کاملThe Flow of Fluids in Porous Media
This lecture will outline the developments over the past two years of Todd Dupont and the author on problems of flow of fluids in porous media arising from petroleum reservoir engineering. Two specific problems will be discussed and a third mentioned. The first is the single-phase flow of a non-ideal gas. This flow can be described by a nonlinear parabolic equation. The second is the two-phase ...
