Flood Monitoring and Warning Systems: A Brief Review

Floods and excessive rainfall are unavoidable phenomena that can cause massive loss of people's lives destruction infrastructure. Flash floods rise rapidly in flood-prone areas, resulting property damage, but the impact on human is relatively preventable by presence monitoring systems. Although there many systems widely practice disaster management agencies flood levels, most these limited range sophisticated to be used maintained. Furthermore, developing countries, conventional gates water canals manually operated suffer from lack real-time leading an overflow channels flash floods. On top that, lacking accurate data analysis system accessed one limitations warning (FMWS). Therefore, this paper, we have explored reviewed existing methods emphasizing their structure sensing techniques. We also classified compared advantages accordingly suggested new solutions improvements utilizing technologies based Internet Things. This paper introduces a detailed mini-review as reported previous studies serve quick guide researchers who engaging field. Based review, conclusions been drawn.
