چکیده
Measurement and coherent manipulation of Andreev bound states (ABSs) in planar superconductor-semiconductor heterostructures could enable gate-controllable, small-footprint superconducting spin qubits with long coherence times. So far, readout capabilities device have been limited by lossy $I\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}I\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}I\ensuremath{-}V$ substrates, but here researchers overcome this limitation a flip-chip approach to microwave experiments on ABSs. Superconductor-semiconductor devices resonators are placed different chips inductively coupled via vacuum gap, enabling high-quality without sacrificing properties.

Andreev-level spectroscopy and Josephson-current switching in a three-terminal Josephson junction
We calculate the electrical currents through a superconductor-insulator-superconductor junction which is also weakly coupled to a normal-metal side probe. The voltage V applied to the normal-metal terminal controls the occupation of Andreev energy levels En , and therefore controls the Josephson current flowing through these levels. Whenever the probe voltage crosses an Andreev level, the Josep...

The spectrum of a segment of InAs nanowire, confined between two superconducting leads, was measured as function of gate voltage and superconducting phase difference using a third normal-metal tunnel probe. Subgap resonances for odd electron occupancy-interpreted as bound states involving a confined electron and a quasiparticle from the superconducting leads, reminiscent of Yu-Shiba-Rusinov sta...
متن کاملMesoscopic superconductors under irradiation: Microwave spectroscopy of Andreev states
We show that irradiation of a voltage-biased superconducting quantum point contact at frequencies of the order of the gap energy can remove the suppression of subgap dc transport through Andreev levels. Quantum interference among resonant scattering events involving photon absorption is furthermore shown to make microwave spectroscopy of the Andreev levels feasible. We also discuss how the same...
متن کاملTopological Superconductivity in a Planar Josephson Junction
We consider a two-dimensional electron gas with strong spin-orbit coupling contacted by two superconducting leads, forming a Josephson junction. We show that in the presence of an in-plane Zeeman field, the quasi-one-dimensional region between the two superconductors can support a topological superconducting phase hosting Majorana bound states at its ends. We study the phase diagram of the syst...
