Flexible chemiresistive nitrogen oxide sensors based on a nanocomposite of polypyrrole-reduced graphene oxide-functionalized carboxybenzene diazonium salts

A new nanocomposites series of polypyrrole/reduced graphene oxide (PPy/rGO) and covalently bonded with aryl 4-carboxybenzene diazonium salt (PPy/rGO-aryl-COOH) were prepared by simple one-step chemical oxidative synthesis. Spin coating technique was used to deposit the as-prepared on BOPET substrate for testing their chemiresistive sensitivity properties towards online detection (NO2) vapors at ambient temperature. The recorded morphological structural data confirmed that PPy/rGO-aryl-COOH forms a homogeneous nanocomposite within size 80 nm improvement crystalline ordering. revealed optimal NO2 sensing in terms higher (1.01%/ppm), faster response time (129 s), limit (2 ppm), reproducibility. Moreover, stability tested under humidity temperature effects. Finally, impedance spectroscopy is conducted fresh air presence gas. These results highlight paramount role functionalization reduced (rGO-aryl-COOH) improving both reactivity our produced regarding NO2. Strong interaction between gas molecules aryl-COOH-functionalized rGO has dramatically enhanced electronic these nanocomposites. striking characteristics newly developed make them very suitable sensing.
