Flexible and Porous Nonwoven SiCN Ceramic Material via Electrospinning of an Optimized Silazane Solution

Electrospinning is a versatile method for the generation of ultrathin fibers forming highly porous mats. To extend technique to preceramic polymers, rheological properties SiCN-precursor/solvent solutions are investigated systematically control and predict non-woven morphology during electrospinning as described in article number 2100321 by Luiz F. B. Ribeiro, Günter Motz, Sergio Y. G. González, co-workers. After pyrolysis resulting ceramic mats suitable high-performance filter systems catalytic supports harsh environments.
