Fisheries Management of the European Catfish Silurus glanis Is Strongly Correlated to the Management of Non-Native Fish Species (Common Carp Cyprinus carpio, Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss, and Grass Carp Ctenopharyngodon idella)

چکیده
Intensive multi-species fish stocking management is a popular yield enhancement tool that supposedly leads to elevated yields in recreational angling. This study aimed analyze the relationships between fisheries of an apex predator and its putative prey. The GAM (generalized additive model) was used intensities European catfish non-native species. were obtained from mandatory angling logbooks collected 38,000 individual anglers by Czech Fishing Union on 176 fishing sites during years 2005–2017 central Bohemia Prague (the Republic). Our results show targeted species positively correlated their yields. However, intensive negatively fishes. Other factors strongly include effort, size fishery, catfish. In conclusion, significant relationship found suggest should not be intensively stocked same rivers as

Novel candidate genes identified in the brain during nociception in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
Recent studies have demonstrated that teleost fish possess nociceptors that detect potentially painful stimuli and that the physiological properties of these fibres are markedly similar to those found in mammals. This finding led to suggestions of possible pain perception in fish, contrary to the view that the sensory response in these animals is limited to the spinal cord and hindbrain and as ...
متن کاملCommon Carp, Cyprinus carpio
The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

متن کاملInsights into the Antiviral Immunity against Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) Reovirus (GCRV) in Grass Carp
Global fish production from aquaculture has rapidly grown over the past decades, and grass carp shares the largest portion. However, hemorrhagic disease caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) results in tremendous loss of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) industry. During the past years, development of molecular biology and cellular biology technologies has promoted significant advances in the...
متن کاملComparative pathogenicity of two strains of pike fry rhabdovirus and spring viremia of carp virus for young roach, common carp, grass carp and rainbow trout
A field isolate of pike fry rhabdovirus (PFR-80560) isolated from roach was tested for pathogenicity in fry of roach Rutilus rutilus L., common carp Cyprinus carpio L., grass carp Ctenopharyngodon idella Valenciennes and rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss Richardson. The fish were experimentally exposed to the virus by immersion in a virus-seeded water-bath. We also compared the pathogenicity of...
