Firm Size Distribution in the Central European Context

This article analyses the distribution of firms by size in six selected countries 2012 and 2017. Estimates are always made for whole economy two subgroups firms. The Visegrad Four (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland Slovakia) with similar economic activity neighbouring economically more developed countries, Germany Austria, compared. As main objective article, we describe verifying validity Zipf's law economies their sectors. Results confirm positively skewed distributed sizes companies measured sales revenues, but does not apply to all magnitude (or an subgroup), only on sections right tail (companies higher turnover within economy), which is line numerous research studies.
