Finiteness in N=1 SYM Theories

I present a criterion for all-order finiteness in N =1 SYM theories. Three applications are given; they yield all-order finite N=1 SYM models with global symmetries of the superpotential. 1. INTRODUCTION The aim of this paper is to present applications of the criterion for all-order finiteness in N = 1 SYM of [ 1]. All-order finiteness is here meant in the sense of exact vanishing of the pertur...

All-order Finiteness in N = 1 Sym Theories: Criteria and Applications

As a motivation, we first recall the possible connection of electric-magnetic duality to finiteness in N = 1 super-Yang-Mills theories (SYM). Then, we present the criterion for all-order finiteness (i.e., vanishing of the β-functions at all orders) in N = 1 SYM. Finally, we apply this finiteness criterion to an SU(5) SGUT. The latter turns out to be all-order finite if one imposes additional sy...

SYM theories and supergauge invariance

So far, quantum properties of N = 1/2 nonanticommutative (NAC) super Yang– Mills theories have been investigated in the WZ gauge. The gauge independence of the results requires assuming that at the quantum level supergauge invariance is not broken by nonanticommutative geometry. In this paper we use an alternative approach which allows studying these theories in a manifestly gauge independent s...

Ultra-violet Finiteness in Noncommutative Supersymmetric Theories

Instability of non-commutative SYM theories at finite temperature

We extend our previous work on the quasi-particle excitations in N = 4 non-commutative U(1) Yang-Mills theory at finite temperature. We show that above some critical temperature there is a tachyon in the spectrum of excitations. It is a collective transverse photon mode polarized in the non-commutative plane. Thus the theory seems to undergo a phase transition at high temperature. Furthermore w...
