چکیده

Steel lightweight aggregate–concrete composite beams (SLACCBs) with bolted shear connections provide several advantages, such as reducing the overall self-weight, shortening construction period, and improving structural seismic performance. However, current research on mechanical behavior of is primarily concentrated structures normal concrete (NC), there no investigation focused performance bolt embedded in aggregate (LAC) slabs. Therefore, this paper developed a three-dimensional (3D) numerical model to study properties SLACCBs by utilizing ABAQUS software. Nonlinear geometric effects material nonlinearities were considered finite element (FE) modelling. The accuracy reliability FE modelling initially calibrated validated against push-off tests described literature. Subsequently, basic connection studied compared those NC slab applying verified Meanwhile, strength, density, diameter, tensile strength also investigated using extensive parametric studies. Finally, some design formulae proposed predict strength.

Finite Element Instability Analysis of the Steel Joist of Continuous Composite Beams with Flexible Shear Connectors

Composite steel/concrete beams may buckle in hogging bending regions. As the top flange of I-beam in that arrangement is restricted from any translational deformation and twist, the web will distort during buckling presenting a phenomenon often described as restricted distortional buckling. There are limited studies available in the literature of restricted distortional buckling of composite st...

Finite Element Response Sensitivity Analysis of Steel-Concrete Composite Beams with Deformable Shear Connection

The behavior of steel-concrete composite beams is strongly influenced by the type of shear connection between the steel beam and the concrete slab. For accurate analytical predictions, the structural model must account for the interlayer slip between these two components. In numerous engineering applications e.g., in the fields of structural optimization, structural reliability analysis, and fi...

Finite Element Modelling of Steel-concrete Composite Beams Strengthened with Prestressed Cfrp Plate

This paper presents results from Finite Element Modelling (FEM) of steel-concrete composite beams strengthened with prestressed Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) plate. For the purpose of this study, three beams were strengthened using prestressed CFRP plate with three different levels of induced prestressing force. The models were developed using ANSYS FE package. The results of an experi...

Investigation of Nonlinear Behavior of Composite Bracing Structures with Concrete Columns and Steel Beams (RCS) Applying Finite Element Method

The composite structural system (RCS) is a new type of moment frame, which is including a combination of concrete columns (RC) and steel beams (S). These structural systems have the advantages of both concrete and steel frames [1]. In previous research on composite structures, there are some studies regarding RCS composite conections, but there is no investigation about seismic resisting system...

Flexural Strengthening of Deficient Reinforced Concrete Beams with Post-Tensioned Carbon Composites using Finite Element Modelling

The application of external post-tensioned steel bars as an effective way to strengthen an existing bridge has been so far used in many different countries. In recent decades, however, they have been replaced by bars made from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), as a material with high tensile strength and corrosion resistance, to address several concerns with steel bars such as their appli...
