Finite Element Implicit 3D Subsurface Structural Modeling

چکیده
We introduce a method for 3D implicit geological structural modeling from sparse sample points, where several conformable surfaces are represented by one single scalar field. Laplacian and Hessian regularization energies discretized on tetrahedral mesh using finite elements. This scheme is believed to offer some geometrical flexibility as it readily implemented both structured unstructured grids. While grids not new, methods based elements have received little attention. The element routinely used solve boundary value problems. However, because conditions typically unknown in subsurface modeling, the traditional requires adjustments. To this end, we present free discretizations of that do assume vanishing Neumann conditions, thereby eliminating artifacts usually associated with assumption. Furthermore, argue while an appropriate discretization can be minimize curvature function triangulated meshes, may fail so meshes.

Finite Element Method for Subsurface Hydrology Using a Mixed Explicit-Implicit Scheme
The mixed explicit-implicit Galerkin finite element method developed previously by the authors is shown to be ideally suited for a wide class of problems arising in subsurface hydrology. These problems include confined saturated flow, unconfined flow under free surface conditions subject to the Dupuit assumption, flow in aquifers which are partly confined and partly unconfined, axisymmetric flo...
متن کامل3D Finite Element Modeling of High Speed Machining
This paper presents simulation of High Speed Machining of steel with coated carbide tools. More specifically, Third Wave Systems AdvantEdge commercial Finite Element Method code is employed in order to present turning models, under various machining conditions. As a novelty, the proposed models for High Speed Machining of steel are three-dimensional and are able to provide predictions on cuttin...
متن کاملTime-Domain Finite Element Modeling of 3D Integrated Optical Devices
Introduction As integrated optical devices become more sophisticated, so does the experimentation and analysis required to design them. By augmenting conventional experiments with rigorous computer modeling we can lower costs, shorten schedules, and provide faster, more accurate predictions. Discrete modeling codes using finite differences or finite elements are the most general, albeit expensi...
متن کاملEfficient 3D Finite Element Modeling of a Muscle-Activated Tongue
We describe our investigation of a fast 3D finite element method (FEM) for biomedical simulation of a muscle-activated human tongue. Our method uses a linear stiffness-warping scheme to achieve simulation speeds which are within a factor 10 of real-time rates at the expense of a small loss in accuracy. Muscle activations are produced by an arrangement of forces acting along selected edges of th...

Printed circuit boards having unfavorable deflection have been considered for a better mechanical design. During reflow process, pcb has experienced a range of the temperature between ambient temperature and peak temperature in furnace. Out of plane deflection is generated due to the property mismatch of material composition. Combination degree of board and copper plating will be researched for...
