Finite element and analytical modelling of PVC-confined concrete columns under axial compression

چکیده

Confined concrete in pipes provides a solution for the structures to resist lateral forces and avoids problems associated with production of confined reinforcement. To evaluate influence PVC pipe on compressive behavior filled composite tubes, ABAQUS software was used simulate 44 (CFPT). The internal steel reinforcement, unconfined strength, slenderness ratio, specimen’s size thickness tube failure mode load carrying capacity, strain reinforced column studied. present discussion show that existing analytical models failed capture effect these parameters. On other hand, proposed finite element (FE) achieve very good agreement between experimental values. FE model can provide an acceptable portrayal CFPT’s response. response estimated using trial error approach as result proposed. parameters CFPT leads development models.
