چکیده

Abstract Background Internal fixation is recommended for treating Vancouver B1 periprosthetic femoral fractures. Although several procedures have been developed with high stability and union rates, long-term weight-bearing constructs are still lacking. Therefore, the aim of present study was to evaluate a double-plate procedure using reversed contralateral locking compression-distal plates fractures under full weight-bearing. Methods Single- were analysed an axial load 1,500 N by finite element analysis biomechanical loading tests. A vertical test performed prosthetic head, displacements strains calculated based on load-displacement load-strain curves generated static compression Results The revealed that significantly reduced stress concentration at lateral plate place fracture site. Under weight-bearing, maximum von Mises in 268 MPa. On other hand, single-plating method occurred defect level femur value 1,303 principal single- 0.63 % 0.058 %, respectively. Consistently, test, strain values methods 1,274.60 ± 11.53 317.33 8.03 (× 10 − 6 ), Conclusions suggests dual-plate may be excellent treatment patients fractures, allowing early postoperative period.

Reversed Contralateral LISS Plate for Vancouver B1 Periprosthetic Femoral Shaft Fractures.

The authors reviewed all patients treated for periprosthetic femur fractures between March 1, 2007, and January 31, 2010 at the senior author's institution. Demographic features, mechanism of injury, radiographs, and computed tomography scans were reviewed to determine the type and stability of the femoral implant at the time of injury. All Vancouver B1 fractures were treated with a novel techn...

Mennen plate fixation for the treatment of periprosthetic femoral fractures.

BACKGROUND The management of periprosthetic femoral fractures after total hip and knee replacement remains difficult and controversial. This study was performed to determine the results of Mennen plate fixation for the treatment of periprosthetic femoral fractures. METHODS This retrospective multicenter study consists of a review of a consecutive series of thirty-five patients in whom a total...

Comment on article "cement-in-cement revision for selected Vancouver type B1 femoral periprosthetic fractures: a biomechanical analysis".

The aim of this study was to perform a biomechanical analysis of the cement-in-cement (c-in-c) technique for fixation of selected Vancouver Type B1 femoral periprosthetic fractures and to assess the degree of cement interposition at the fracture site. Six embalmed cadaveric femora were implanted with a cemented femoral stem. Vancouver Type B1 fractures were created by applying a combined axial ...

Challenges of Plate Fixation for Vancouver Type-C Fractures after a Well-Fixed Hip Arthroplasty Femoral Stem

The fixation of distal femoral fractures (Vancouver type-C fractures) following a well-fixed hip arthroplasty femoral stem has become a challenging issue for orthopedic surgeons due to the inter-prosthetic biomechanical effects such as negative, positive, and torsional strain. Surgeons have applied a range of constructs to overcome these difficulties. To minimize the risk of inter-prosthetic fr...

Impaction femoral allografting and cemented revision for periprosthetic femoral fractures.

We reviewed retrospectively the outcome of the treatment by impaction grafting of periprosthetic femoral fractures around loose stems in 106 patients with Vancouver type-B2 and type-B3 fractures. Eighty-nine patients had a cemented revision with impaction grafting and a long or short stem. The remaining 17 had cemented revision without impaction grafting. Fractures treated by impaction grafting...
