چکیده

In this study, cracking patterns and widths were analytically investigated in a continuously reinforced bonded concrete overlay (CRBCO), as they developed due to temperature change drying shrinkage, the environmental load for sustainable management of deteriorated pavements. The parameters damaged plasticity (CDP) model used nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) pavement determined through comparison FEA results with field crack survey so be CRBCO pavement. total change, which combines actual converted from considering stress relaxation, was adopted applied locations movements reflection transverse cracks via FEA. occurred at all joints existing Only one secondary crack, width that 5–6 times narrower than cracks, between adjacent under various conditions. Thus, predominantly affected by joint movement addition, predicted CDP those using elastic approximately 10%. Therefore, can reasonably model.

Three-dimensional Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements

Continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) performance depends primarily on early-age cracks that result from changes in temperature and drying shrinkage. This report presents the findings of a study of the early-age behavior of CRCP in response to temperature change using a three-dimensional finite element model. The nonlinear effects of the bond slip between concrete and steel and betwe...

Sensitivity analysis frameworks for mechanistic-empirical pavement design of continuously reinforced concrete pavements

The new AASHTO Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) performance predictions for the anticipated climatic and traffic conditions depend on the values of the numerous input parameters that characterize the pavement materials, layers, design features, and condition. This paper proposes comprehensive local sensitivity analyses (LSA) and global sensitivity analyses (GSA) methodologies...

Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Column Under Lateral Load

To serve its purpose a structure must be safe against collapse and serviceable in use. Serviceability requires that deflections be adequately small to keep the cracks within tolerable limits. Although the widely followed ACI Code suggests a detailed method of deflection calculation, it often cannot exactly perceive the actual behavior of a structure. For this purpose, finite element analysis, u...

Finite Element Analysis of Bond for Reinforced Concrete Structures

A high-resolution finite element model is developed using the MSC.Marc software package to investigate local bond behavior and the modeling of this behavior. In the model, interaction between concrete and steel is treated geometrically as contact between two separate bodies. Concrete is modeled as a homogenous material. A multiple, fixed, smeared crack model is used to simulate response in tens...
