Finite-difference time-domain model of lasing action in a four-level two-electron atomic system.
We report a new finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) computational model of the lasing dynamics of a four-level two-electron atomic system. Transitions between the energy levels are governed by coupled rate equations and the Pauli Exclusion Principle. This approach is an advance relative to earlier FDTD models that did not include the pumping dynamics, or the Pauli Exclusion Principle. Further,...
متن کاملAn Intelligent Four-Electrode Conductivity Sensor for Aquaculture
Conductivity is regard as a key technical parameter in modern intensive fish farming management. The water conductivity sensors are sophisticated devices used in the aquaculture monitoring field to understand the effects of climate changes on fish ponds. In this paper a new four-electrode smart sensor is proposed for water conductivity measurements of aquaculture monitoring. The main advantages ...
متن کاملA Finite difference plate Model
In this short paper, a simple flexible difference scheme for the simulation of rectangular plate vibration is presented, along with various implementation details (scheme coefficients, a discussion of boundary condition implementation, explicit stability bounds, and memory and computational requirements), and a discussion of features such as moving excitation and readout locations. Sound exampl...
متن کاملSolving a system of 2D Burgers' equations using Semi-Lagrangian finite difference schemes
In this paper, we aim to generalize semi-Lagrangian finite difference schemes for a system of two-dimensional (2D) Burgers' equations. Our scheme is not limited by the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition and therefore we can apply larger step size for the time variable. Proposed schemes can be implemented in parallel very well and in fact, it is a local one-dimensional (LOD) scheme which o...
متن کاملFinite difference method for a combustion model
We study a projection and upwind finite difference scheme for a combustion model problem. Convergence to weak solutions is proved under the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy condition. More assumptions are given on the ignition temperature; then convergence to strong detonation wave solutions or to weak detonation wave solutions is proved.
