Financial Literacy and Credit Accessibility of Rice Farmers in Pakistan: Analysis for Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Regions

This study investigates the factors that affect farmers’ access to Food Security and Agricultural Credit (FSAC) services for farmers of Pakistan who have no banking but a feasible farm business. Using multiple regressions logistic analysis, authors revealed determinants financial literacy analyzed variables which affected accessibility FSAC. Results indicated average respondents was at moderate level. It by age respondents, length their education, distance nearby cities, ownership bank accounts, annual income, education experience. The FSAC also impacted area cultivated land, interest rate, collateral, farms’ index, credit experiences, legal status farmer groups, amount loan. Some issues prevent from having widespread include lack loan need, awareness, usury perspective, rejection experience, fear borrowing bank, inactive groups. contributes existing literature on choice sources using primary data set.
