Final - State Phases in B → Baryon - Antibaryon Decays
The recent observation of the decay B 0 → Λc p̄ suggests that related decays may soon be visible at ee colliders. It is shown how these decays can shed light on strong final-state phases and amplitudes involving the spectator quark, both of which are normally expected to be small in B decays. متن کاملOn Large Final - State Phases in Heavy Meson Decays
An attempt is made to identify circumstances under which the weak decays of D and B mesons may display large differences between eigenphases of strong final-state interactions. There are several cases in which rescattering from other final states appears to enhance decay rates with respect to estimates based on the factorization hypothesis. PACS codes: 13.25.-k, 11.30.Hv, 12.40.Nn, 13.75.Lb
متن کاملDecays of the $(3097) to Baryon-antibaryon Final States*
(Submitted to Phys. Rev. 0) *. (a). (b). (cl. cd). tel. (f). (g). (h). (iI. Cj).ABSTRACT A high statistics study of 9 decays into baryon final states has been done uith the MARK II detector at SPEAR. A detailed test of bar-yon-antibaryon decay modes is presented. Substantial resonance formation is observed in multibody decays of the 4' involving baryons. Branching ratios for a large number of d...
متن کاملFinal-state Phases in Doubly-cabibbo-suppressed Charmed Meson Nonleptonic Decays
Cabibbo-favored nonleptonic charmed particle decays exhibit large final-state phase differences in K̄π and K̄∗π but not K̄ρ channels. It is of interest to know the corresponding pattern of final-state phases in doubly-Cabibbosuppressed decays, governed by the c → dus̄ subprocess. An experimental program is outlined for determining such phases via measurements of rates for D → K∗π and K(ρ, ω, φ) cha...
متن کاملFinal State Interactions in Kaon Decays
We quantify the important effect of strong final state interactions in the weak K → 2π amplitudes, using the measured π-π phase shifts with J = 0 and I = 0, 2. The main results of this analysis, with their implications for ε/ε and the ∆I = 1/2 rule, have been already presented in a previous paper [1]. Here we provide a detailed formal derivation of those results and further discuss the Standard...
