Fighting Global Surveillance: Lessons from the American Muslim Community

The United States government has been spying on its citizens through a massive surveillance infrastructure that is unrestricted to particular target or suspicion of wrongdoing. statutory and regulatory authorities responsible for this are sprawling often secret. Built-in limitations oversight mechanisms riddled with loopholes inaccessible due exceedingly high thresholds. Litigation challenges overreach fail at standing. Under the current doctrine, plaintiffs must show their own communications have surveilled by specific program. This Note contributes reform proposing private right action sets requirements Article III standing in cases broaden access judicial redress would-be meritorious claims.
