چکیده
In the scientific literature, field theory is most fully covered in cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems. This explained by fact that mathematical apparatus of these systems well studied. When source has a more complex structure than point or straight line, there need for new approaches to their study. The goal this research adapt related curvilinear coordinates order represent it normal conical coordinates. addition, an important part development geometrical modeling scalar vector level surfaces using computer graphics. paper shows dependences on rectangular Cartesian coordinates, Lame coefficients. differential characteristics fields are obtained: Laplacian fields, divergence, rotation field. example case features application For first time, expressions obtained. Analogue gravity from field theory normal modes?
We demonstrate that the emergence of a curved spacetime ‘effective Lorentzian geometry’ is a common and generic result of linearizing a classical scalar field theory around some non-trivial background configuration. This investigation is motivated by considering the large number of ‘analogue models’ of general relativity that have recently been developed based on condensedmatter physics, and as...

In a previous paper [Barceló C et al 2001 Class. Quantum Grav. 18 3595– 610 (Preprint gr-qc/0104001)] we have shown that the occurrence of curved spacetime ‘effective Lorentzian geometries’ is a generic result of linearizing an arbitrary classical field theory around some nontrivial background configuration. This observation explains the ubiquitous nature of the ‘analogue models’ for general re...
متن کاملConical diffraction: observations and theory
Conical refraction was produced by a transparent biaxial crystal of KGd(WO4)2 illuminated by a laser beam. The ring patterns at different distances from the crystal were magnified and projected onto a screen, giving rings whose diameter was 265 mm. Comparison with theory revealed all predicted geometrical and diffraction features: close to the crystal, there are two bright rings of internal con...

The formulation of fundamental physical theories, classical as well as quantum ones, by differential geometric methods nowadays is well established and has a great conceptual virtue. Probably, the most prominent example is the formulation of general relativity on Riemannian manifolds, i.e., the geometrization of the gravitational force; no less important is the geometric formulation of gauge fi...
