Field Grading Composites Tailored by Electrophoresis — Part 1: Principle and Permittivity Gradient in Uniform Electric Field

چکیده

A series of three articles present an innovative way to build advanced functionally graded materials (FGM) based on polymer/ceramic composites tailored by electrophoresis from the process principle their field grading application in power electronics. In this Part 1, is presented and relies applying a DC voltage liquid composite compound before curing order `freeze' particles where they have been accumulated. To exemplify principle, FGM involving epoxy resin with SrTiO3 high-k permittivity gradient are presented. The methodology characterize them carried out. An accumulated particle region observed at high electrode while depleted bulk remains unmodified. This layer both increases thickness filler densification increasing and/or time allowing tuning its permittivity. work paves development more robust electronic systems electrical fringe critical regions can be mitigated.

Availability Analysis For Heterogeneous Nucleation In A Uniform Electric Field

Industrial demands for more compact heat exchangers are a motivation to find new technology features. Electrohydrodynamics (EHD) is introduced as a promising phenomenon for heat transfer enhancement mechanisms. Similar to any new technology, EHD has not been understood completely yet and requires more fundamental studies. In boiling phase change phenomena, nucleation is the dominant mechanism i...

Field gradient electrophoresis.

The class of equilibrium gradient methods utilizes the opposition of two forces, at least one of which changes in magnitude with position, to separate and concentrate analytes. The drawback of many methods of this type is that the production of two opposing forces requires in comparison to standard methods, such as capillary electrophoresis, a relatively complex apparatus. In addition, for tech...

Electric-field fluctuations in random dielectric composites

When a composite is subjected to a constant applied electric, thermal, or stress field, the associated local fields exhibit strong spatial fluctuations. In this paper, we evaluate the distribution of the local electric field ~i.e., all moments of the field! for continuum ~off-lattice! models of random dielectric composites. The local electric field in the composite is calculated by solving the ...

Born-Infeld Dynamics in Uniform Electric Field

We investigate various properties of classical configurations of the Born-Infeld theory in a uniform electric field. This system is involved with dynamics of (F,Dp) bound states, which are bound states of fundamental strings and Dp-branes. The uniform electric field can be treated as a constraint on the asymptotic behavior of the fields on the brane. BPS configurations in this theory correspond...

Electric field gradient effects in raman spectroscopy.

Raman spectra of materials subject to strong electric field gradients, such as those present near a metal surface, can show significantly altered selection rules. We describe a new mechanism by which the field gradients can produce Raman-like lines. We develop a theoretical model for this "gradient-field Raman" effect, discuss selection rules, and compare to other mechanisms that produce Raman-...
