Field Efficacy and Economics of Selected Insecticides and Bio-pesticides against Chickpea Pod Borer [Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner)] on Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) at Prayagraj

At the Central Research Farm of Sam Higginbottom University Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Prayagraj, an experiment on chickpea was carried out to test "Field efficacy and economics selected insecticides bio-Pesticides against pod borer [Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner)] (Cicer arietinum L.) at Prayagraj" during rabi season 2022-2023. Effectiveness biopesticides viz., T1 Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC 0.5ml ml/lit water, T2 Emamectin benzoate 5% SG 0.4 gm/lit T3 Novaluron 10% EC 1.5 T4 Spinosad 45% 0.5 T5 Beauveria bassiana WP 5 T6 Nisco sixer plus 1ml/lit water T7 Neem oil @ treatment T8 Untreated control were tested Helicoverpa (Hubner). The different treatments revealed that all superior over control, (0.66) which found most effective followed by (0.87), (0.98), (1.11), (1.30), (1.48), (2.15) (6.02). crop with highest average yield, SC, produced 22.01 q/ha, its cost-benefit ratio 1:2.26. (21.09 q/ha) 1:2.55 C:B ratio, (19.75 1:2.32 (17.5 1:2.14 (16.16 1:2.02 (13.29 1:1.72 (13.03 1:1.67 Control (9.5 1:1.29 ratio.
