چکیده

The use of water splitting has been investigated as a good alternate for storing electrical energy. While the general interest in developing non-toxic, high-performance, and economically feasible catalysts oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is noteworthy, there also significant research. Recently, perovskite-type oxides have performed an alternative to non-precious metal can act new class effective systems. Herein, perovskite-structured FeTiO3 was prepared via facile one-step solvothermal method using ionic liquid templates. results structural morphological studies supported formation perovskite. Furthermore, perovskite demonstrated OER activity with lower onset potential 1.45 V vs. RHE Tafel slope value 0.133 V.dec−1 at 1 M KOH solution mercury/mercurous oxide (Hg/HgO) were used working electrodes.

Electrochemical reduction induced self-doping of Ti3+ for efficient water splitting performance on TiO2 based photoelectrodes.

Hetero-element doping (e.g., N, F, C) of TiO2 is inevitably accompanied by significantly increased structural defects due to the dopants' nature being foreign impurities. Very recently, in situ self-doping with homo-species (e.g., Ti(3+)) has been emerging as a rational solution to enhance TiO2 photoactivity within both UV and visible light regions. Herein we demonstrate that conventional elect...

Efficient solar-driven water splitting by nanocone BiVO4-perovskite tandem cells

Bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) has been widely regarded as a promising photoanode material for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting because of its low cost, its high stability against photocorrosion, and its relatively narrow band gap of 2.4 eV. However, the achieved performance of the BiVO4 photoanode remains unsatisfactory to date because its short carrier diffusion length restricts the total...

Au@CdS Core–Shell Nanoparticles‐Modified ZnO Nanowires Photoanode for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

Hydrogen production from water splitting using solar energy based on photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells has attracted increasing attention because it leaves less of a carbon footprint and has economic superiority of solar and hydrogen energy. Oxide semiconductors such as ZnO possessing high stability against photocorrosion in hole scavenger systems have been widely used to build photoanodes of PE...

Tungsten carbide nanoparticles as efficient cocatalysts for photocatalytic overall water splitting.

Tungsten carbide exhibits platinum-like behavior, which makes it an interesting potential substitute for noble metals in catalytic applications. Tungsten carbide nanocrystals (≈5 nm) are directly synthesized through the reaction of tungsten precursors with mesoporous graphitic C(3)N(4) (mpg-C(3)N(4)) as the reactive template in a flow of inert gas at high temperatures. Systematic experiments th...

Electrochemical Studies of Water-Soluble Palladium Nanoparticles

Aqueous-soluble monolayer-protected palladium nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrogen reduction of Pd(II) in a water solution. The particles were then further functionalized by incorporating multiple copies of mercapto derivatives of viologen into the particle protecting monolayers. The electrochemistry of the viologen moieties with the particles dissolved in solution or immobilized onto ele...
