Ferromagnetic resonance study of sputtered Co | Ni multilayers
We report on room temperature ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) studies of [t Co|2t Ni]×N sputtered films, where 0.1 ≤ t ≤ 0.6 nm. Two series of films were investigated: films with same number of Co|Ni bilayer repeats (N=12), and samples in which the overall magnetic layer thickness is kept constant at 3.6 nm (N=1.2/t). The FMR measurements were conducted with a high frequency broadband coplanar wa...
متن کاملFerromagnetic resonance studies in Co/SiO2 multilayers
The uniaxial in-plane and out-of-plane anisotropies of [Co/SiO2] 10 multilayers have been studied by ferromagnetic resonance, magnetometry and transmission electron microscopy. The surface and volume anisotropy constants are in the range of values typical for multilayers with Co and transition metals of the iron group. The influence of the intermixed Co–SiO2 region is discussed. # 2007 Elsevier...
متن کاملBroadband ferromagnetic resonance linewidth measurement of magnetic tunnel junction multilayers
The broadband ferromagnetic resonance FMR linewidth of the free layer of magnetic tunnel junctions is used as a simple diagnostic of the quality of the magnetic structure. The FMR linewidth increases near the field regions of free layer reversal and pinned layer reversal, and this increase correlates with an increase in magnetic hysteresis in unpatterned films, low-frequency noise in patterned ...
متن کاملAtomic Scale Structure of Sputtered Metal Multilayers
A combined theoretical and experimental approach has been used to study nanoscale CoFe/Cu/CoFe multilayer films grown by sputter deposition. Such films have applications in sensors that utilize the giant magnetoresistance effect, for example, read heads in high-density information storage devices. Atomistic simulations based on a molecular dynamics approach and an alloy form of the embedded ato...
