Ferromagnetic Cytocompatible Glass‐Ceramic Porous Microspheres for Magnetic Hyperthermia Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

Highly porous, ferromagnetic glass-ceramic P40-Fe3O4 microspheres (125–212 µm) with enhanced cytocompatibility have been manufactured for the first time via a facile, rapid, single-stage flame spheroidization process. Dispersions of Fe3O4 and Ca2Fe2O5 domains (≈10 embedded within P40 (40P2O5-16CaO-24MgO-20Na2O in mol%) phosphate-based glass matrices show evidence remanent magnetization (0.2 Am2 kg−1) provide controlled induction heating to constant level 41.9 °C, making these materials highly appropriate localized magnetic hyperthermia applications. Complementary, investigations confirm suitability porous biomedical It is suggested that flame-spheroidization process opens up new opportunities development innovative synergistic biomaterials, toward bone-tissue regenerative

Magnetic Stability of Functionally Graded Soft Ferromagnetic Porous Rectangular Plate

This study presents critical buckling of functionally graded soft ferromagnetic porous (FGFP) rectangular plates, under magnetic field with simply supported boundary condition. Equilibrium and stability equations of a porous rectangular plate in transverse magnetic field are derived. The geometrical nonlinearities are considered in the Love-Kirchhoff hypothesis sense. The formulations are compa...

Clinical applications of magnetic nanoparticles for hyperthermia.

Magnetic fluids are increasingly used for clinical applications such as drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic fluid hyperthermia. The latter technique that has been developed as a cancer treatment for several decades comprises the injection of magnetic nanoparticles into tumors and their subsequent heating in an alternating magnetic field. Depending on the applied temperature a...

Iron Oxide Nanocrystals for Magnetic Hyperthermia Applications

Magnetic nanocrystals have been investigated extensively in the past several years for several potential applications, such as information technology, MRI contrast agents, and for drug conjugation and delivery. A specific property of interest in biomedicine is magnetic hyperthermia-an increase in temperature resulting from the thermal energy released by magnetic nanocrystals in an external alte...
