Fe(III)–Chitosan Microbeads for Adsorptive Removal of Cr(VI) and Phosphate Ions

Fe(III)–chitosan microbeads (Fe–CTB) were prepared using a chemical coprecipitation method. SEM–EDX, FTIR, XRD, TGA, BET, and pH pzc performed for the characterization of adsorbent. Various parameters optimized as pH, adsorption time, adsorbent dose, initial Cr(VI), PO43− ion concentration effect assorted ions studies. Fe–CTB revealed more than 80% detoxification 100 mg L−1 at 3 with 60 min stirring Cr(VI) having capacities 34.15 32.27 g−1, respectively. The process followed monolayer they favored Langmuir isotherm model. Kinetic thermodynamic studies’ emphasis on was spontaneous exothermic pseudo-second-order kinetics both adsorbates. found to be reusable in multiple cycles.
