Feasibility of Remote Blood Pressure Estimation via Narrow-band Multi-wavelength Pulse Transit Time

چکیده

Contact-free sensing gained much traction in the past decade. While remote monitoring of some parameters (heart rate) is approaching clinical levels precision, others remain challenging (blood pressure). We investigated feasibility estimating blood pressure (BP) via pulse transit time (PTT) a novel single-site manner, using modified RGB camera. A narrow-band triple band-pass filter allowed us to measure PTT between different skin layers, harvesting information from green and near-infrared wavelengths. The minimizes inter-channel influence band overlap, however overlap remains within bands. further resolve this color-channel model channel-separation method. Using proposed setup algorithm, we obtained multi-wavelength (MW) PTTs an experiment inducing BP changes 9 subjects. results showed good absolute Pearson’s correlation coefficient both MW systolic (R = 0.61, p 0.08) as well diastolic 0.54, 0.05), pointing estimation PTT. This was confirmed leave-one-subject-out experiment, where simple Random Forest regression achieved mean errors 3.59 2.63 mmHg for respectively.

Pulse transit time and blood pressure during cardiopulmonary exercise tests.

Pulse transit time (PTT), the interval between ventricular electrical activity and peripheral pulse wave, is assumed to be a surrogate marker for blood pressure (BP) changes. The objective of this study was to analyze PTT and its relation to BP during cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPET). In 20 patients (mean age 51+/-18.4 years), ECG and finger-photoplethysmography were continuously recorded ...

Blood Pressure Estimation based on Pulse Transit Time and Compensation of Vertical Position

A chronically high blood pressure (BP) may lead to arteriosclerosis and consequently is a risk factor for apoplectic stroke and cardiac infarction – the main death causes in industrial countries. Hence, blood pressure recently has become one of the most relevant parameters for the assessment of a patients’ health status. For the purpose of a continuous monitoring of cardiovascular patients, we ...

Methods for reliable estimation of pulse transit time and blood pressure variations using smartphone sensors

Hypertension is known to affect around one third of adults globally and early diagnosis is essential to reduce the effects of this affliction. Today’s Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring cuffs are obtrusive and inconvenient for performing regular measurements, and continuous non-invasive blood pressure devices are too complex and expensive for ambulatory use. Hence, there is a strong need for afford...

Impact of heart disease and calibration interval on accuracy of pulse transit time-based blood pressure estimation.

Continuous blood pressure (BP) measurement without a cuff is advantageous for the early detection and prevention of hypertension. The pulse transit time (PTT) method has proven to be promising for continuous cuffless BP measurement. However, the problem of accuracy is one of the most challenging aspects before the large-scale clinical application of this method. Since PTT-based BP estimation re...
