Fault-Tolerant Control Strategy for Hall Sensors in BLDC Motor Drive for Electric Vehicle Applications

The adoption of the brushless DC motor in electric drive vehicle industry continues to grow due its robustness and ability meet torque–speed requirements. This work presents implementation a fault-tolerant control (FTC) for BLDC designed vehicles. paper focuses on studying defect Ha sensor signal reconstruction, assuming possible cases, but same principle is applied other two sensors (Hb Hc ). In this case, fault diagnosis allows correction reconstruction order compel system despite presence fault. Indeed, several robust systems are used within regulate speed properly, such as via fuzzy logic neural network. three configurations EVs, PID, (FL), an artificial network (ANN), discusses pros cons, develops corresponding mathematical models enhance strategy which analyzed studied using MATLAB-based simulations (by discussing steady state transient state), allowing novel design based analytical developed. results obtained from simulation improved controlled by compared controller. At time, failure had no effect system’s operation efficiency FTC control.
