چکیده
Fat-poor renal angiomyolipoma (fpAML) and cell carcinoma (RCC) are difficult to differentiate misdiagnosis can lead unnecessary nephrectomy. We experienced a case showing “collapsed shape” which reflected fpAML tissue type. A tumor was incidentally discovered in 42-year-old female during an abdominal ultrasound. RCC suspected according CT MRI imaging results, partial nephrectomy performed. However, the pathologic diagnosis fpAML. Upon reevaluation of preoperative images, morphological change due contact with surrounding tissues: collapsed shape observed could be identified by CT, is gold standard test for differentiating tumors. In cases where tumor, should considered.

Fat-poor angiomyolipoma with cyst-like changes mimicking a cystic renal cell carcinoma: a case report
Angiomyolipoma is a common benign renal tumor. It is typically composed of adipose tissue and hence is easily diagnosed by using imaging methods such as ultrasonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. However, it is difficult to differentiate an atypical angiomyolipoma such as a fat-poor angiomyolipoma from a malignant tumor by using these imaging methods. We report a case...
متن کاملIsolated Renal Angiomyolipoma – A Case Report
Angiomyolipoma is an uncommon benign tumour (hamartsoma) composed of mature or immature fat, thickwalled blood vessels and smooth muscle elements in varying proportions. It is typically found in the young and inpatients with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). We present a case of a 55-year old woman who has no TSC. A 55-year old post-menopausal house wife referred a peripheral hospital with subt...
متن کاملFat poor renal angiomyolipoma: patient, computerized tomography and histological findings.
PURPOSE We reviewed our experience with fat poor cases of angiomyolipoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS The records of patients with angiomyolipoma, as determined by pathological study, from 1998 to 2004 were reviewed by recording patient demographics and outcomes. Fat poor cases were defined as the failure of imaging to demonstrate fat in a lesion. Computerized tomography and histological characteri...
متن کاملOff-Clamp Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy for a Fat-Poor Angiomyolipoma Arising from the Renal Capsule: A Case Report
Renal function can be significantly preserved after nephron-sparing surgery by decreasing the intraoperative ischemic duration or by performing off-clamp surgery. We report the case of a 56-year-old woman diagnosed with a minimal-fat angiomyolipoma arising from the renal capsule, which was successfully treated by retroperitoneoscopic partial nephrectomy without hilar clamping. Computed tomograp...
