Fast Distance Protection Scheme for Wind Farm Transmission Lines Considering R-L and Bergeron Models

The distributed capacitance of the line becomes larger as scale wind farms, transmission voltage level, and distance increase. Hence, error traditional time-domain protection scheme based on R-L model, which ignores line, unacceptable. Therefore, fault location method especially maximum range, is theoretically analyzed in this paper. On basis, a novel Bergeron models proposed. Then, fast designed. In proposed scheme, fitting calculation used to construct weight matrix, an algorithm for solving differential equations designed improve speed stability. Compared with frequency-domain independent power supply characteristics; thus, it suitable farm lines. addition, compared effectively avoids negative influence significantly improves operating speed. Different types faults are simulated by PSCAD/EMT-DC verify effectiveness superiority scheme.
