Fast 3 T nigral hyperintensity magnetic resonance imaging in Parkinson’s disease

چکیده

Abstract The absence of nigral hyperintensity is a promising MR marker for Parkinson’s disease (PD), but its small size imposes limitations on routine use. Our aim was to compare Multi Echo Data Image Combination (MEDIC), segmented echo-planar imaging (EPISEG) and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequences, as well both magnitude (MAG) susceptibility-weighted (SWI) reconstructions single-echo gradient echo imaging. Twenty-five healthy twenty PD subjects were included. Sensitivity motion artefacts, confidence the radiologist in interpretation, rate nondiagnostic scans diagnostic accuracy assessed. EPISEG less motion-sensitive than MEDIC, MAG, SWI, while FLAIR MAG SWI. reviewers more confident when using compared any other techniques MEDIC superior FLAIR. proportions lower sequences. best performance achieved (sensitivity = 65%, specificity 96%). Using EPISEG, associated with higher Hoehn-Yahr stage MDS-UPDRS II + III. Nigral may be intact at very early stages PD. properties help transfer into daily clinical practice.

Magnetic resonance imaging of feline eye

The purpose of this study was to investigate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the normal feline eyeand optic nerves using T1-weighted and T2-weighted images. A total of 6 healthy female domestic short haircats age 2-2.5 years and weighing 3.2 ± 0.4 kg were selected. Magnetic resonance imaging data werecollected using GEMSOW (Philips) at a magnetic field strength of 1.5 T. Dorsal, sagittal, a...

Fast Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging via Wavelets

Our objective is to improve the time-resolution of functional magnetic resonance imaging by sampling only a small fraction of the Fourier transform of the spin density, and using a wavelet lter to approximately obtain, not the usual susceptibility map, but instead the integral, I(t), of the diierence in susceptibility between task and pre-task, over a prespeciied region of interest in the brain...
