Farmers’ Preferences for Recycling Pesticide Packaging Waste: An Implication of a Discrete Choice Experiment Method

Recycling pesticide packaging wastes (PPWs) is important for promoting green development in agriculture and improving the rural ecological environment. However, limited studies have focused on subsidy, reward, punishment policies recycling of wastes. Therefore, to fill research gap, main aim this study was analyze farmers’ preferences different PPW using a choice experiment method. Furthermore, identified heterogeneous provide decision-making base governments formulate PPWs policies. We used random parameter logit latent class model approach objectives. A well-structured questionnaire collect data from 256 vegetable growers Hebei province China. The results found that more than 80% farmers less 30 g (mL) pesticides, 60% deeply buried PPWs. In area, preferred subsidy incentive it hard accept higher capacity specifications punitive measures.
