Family functionality and burden of family caregivers of users with mental disorders

ABSTRACT Objective: to verify the difference of mean or median in scores family functionality and burden caregivers people with mental disorders. Methods: cross-sectional study carried out a Psychosocial Care Center 61 caregivers. Instruments were used for sociodemographic characterization, care process, Family Apgar Index Burden Interview Schedule. Mean/median tests adopted. Results: women disorders presence children home decreased score. Difficulty relationship between caregiver/user, nervousness/tension, physical aggression agitation patients increased global average subjective burden. Conclusions: nursing interventions reduce promote should prioritize disorders, assist them managing troublesome behaviors raising awareness nucleus co-responsibility caring sick people, especially families who demand daily care.
