Factors associated with severe maternal, fetuses and neonates’ outcomes in a university hospital in Rio de Janeiro State

Abstract Objectives: to estimate the burden of parturients, fetuses and neonate’s severe morbidity mortality investigate association between maternal their conceptus outcomes. Methods: retrospective cohort 546 parturients in a university hospital, reference for high-risk pregnancy, metropolitan region II Rio de Janeiro State from 2015 2017. We classified according obstetric (OM) direct, indirect, or mixed, outcomes as: 1) no severity, 2) complication (SC), 3) critical intervention/Intensive Care Unit, 4) greater severity –maternal near-miss (MNM) death. evaluated as neonatal (NNM) fetal deaths. estimated morbimortality indicators associated factors (multinomial logistic regression). Results: OM was frequent: 29.3% 22.3% 15.8% mixed. There were eight cases NMM, seven with direct MO. Among conceptus: 7.5% NNM 4.4%, The risk 16.8 neonatal, 102.6/1000 live births. Mixed race, inadequate prenatal care, CG NMM/death, NNM. Inadequate care NM/death Conclusion: even unit, sociodemographic, health inequalities negatively affect mothers and, consequently, children.
