چکیده
Abstract Introduction Adult non-degenerative scoliosis accounts for 90% of spinal deformities in young adults. However, perioperative complications and related risk factors long posterior instrumentation fusion the treatment adult have not been adequately studied. Methods We evaluated clinical radiographical results from 146 patients with who underwent fusion. Preoperative data, intraoperative variables, radiographic parameters were collected to analyze complications. Potential independent by univariate analysis logistic regression analysis. Results One hundred forty-six included our study. There 23 21 (14.4%) patients, eight which cardiopulmonary complications, two infection, six neurological three gastrointestinal four incision-related complication. The development total change Cobb angle (odds ratio [OR] = 1.085, 95% CI 1.035 ~ 1.137, P 0.001) osteotomy (OR 3.565, 1.039 12.236, 0.043). factor minor is 1.092, 1.023 1.165, 0.008). major are 4.475, 1.960 20.861, 0.036) 1.106, 1.182, 0.003). Evaluating of the results of long fusion surgery in patients with degenerative lumbar scoliosis
Background: Degenerative scoliosis most commonly affects the lumbar spine in the elderly, resulting in facet and disc degeneration, leading to increased pain and progressive deformity. Due to the importance of the results of long fusion and the rate of coronary and sagittal correction of imbalance in patients with degenerative scoliosis, the present study was performed to evaluate the results o...
متن کاملPerioperative complications after surgical treatment in degenerative adult de novo scoliosis
BACKGROUND Degenerative adult de novo (DAD) scoliosis appears characteristically in the sixth or seventh decade with symptoms of severe back pain and radiculopathy or spinal claudication. The aim of this study was to enhance the knowledge of perioperative complications and detect possible risk factors in this selective DAD scoliosis surgery. METHODS This retrospective study included only pati...
متن کاملSurgical Treatment of Adult Degenerative Scoliosis
The rapid increase of elderly population has resulted in increased prevalence of adult scoliosis. Adult scoliosis is divided into adult idiopathic scoliosis and adult degenerative scoliosis. These two types of scoliosis vary in patient age, curve pattern and clinical symptoms, which necessitate different surgical indications and options. Back pain and deformity are major indications for surgery...
متن کاملClinical Outcomes of Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion in the Treatment of Adult Degenerative Scoliosis
INTRODUCTION The use of extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) and other lateral access surgery is rapidly increasing in popularity. However, limited data is available regarding its use in scoliosis surgery. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of adults with degenerative lumbar scoliosis treated with XLIF. METHODS Thirty consecutive patients with adult degenerat...
متن کاملRisk factors for perioperative cardiac complications after lumbar fusion surgery.
Cardiac complication is a leading cause of death in the perioperative period after non-cardiac surgery. The present study retrospectively investigated perioperative cardiac complications after spinal fusion surgery in 901 consecutive adult patients who underwent fusion surgery in the lumbar spine from January 2005 to December 2006. Cardiac complications developed in seven patients (0.8%), four ...
