Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of Cold Thermal Energy Storage Tanks Operating in Water Chiller Air Conditioning System

In this study, cold and thermal storage systems were designed manufactured to operate in combination with the water chiller air-conditioning system of 105.5 kW capacity, aim reducing operating costs maximizing energy efficiency. The tank used a mixture 10 wt.% glycerin as phase-change material (PCM), while was heat transfer fluid (HTF). exchanger made polyvinyl chloride (PVC). On other hand, capacity 50 L hot per hour. did not use pump for through exchanger, so save costs. paper, parameters tanks are shown according results experimental research, including temperatures cooling heating load, fluid, during discharge process, well duration. assisted air conditioner internship workshop space at university an area 400 m2, contributing remarkable reduction daytime. Furthermore, recovered waste from compressor chiller, successfully built operated, providing temperature 60 °C hour serve everyday needs school students. This design suitable joint operation applications.
