چکیده

Extreme halophiles offer the advantage to save on costs of sterilization and water for biohydrogen production from lignocellulosic waste after pretreatment process with their ability withstand extreme salt concentrations. This study identifies dominant hydrogen-producing genera species among acclimatized, extremely halotolerant microbial communities taken two salt-damaged soil locations in Khon Kaen one location evaporation pond Samut Sakhon, Thailand. The communities’ V3–V4 regions 16srRNA were analyzed using high-throughput amplicon sequencing. A total 345 operational taxonomic units obtained sequencing confirmed that Firmicutes was phyla three communities. Halanaerobium fermentans Halanaerobacter lacunarum Spatial proximity not found be a determining factor similarities between these halophilic Through communities, strategies can developed increase molar yield.

Bacillus isabeliae sp. nov., a halophilic bacterium isolated from a sea salt evaporation pond.

A low-G+C, Gram-positive isolate, designated strain CVS-8(T), was isolated from a sea salt evaporation pond on the Island of Sal in the Cape Verde Archipelago. This organism was found to be a catalase- and oxidase-positive, non-motile, spore-forming, aerobic, curved rod-shaped organism with an optimum growth temperature of about 35-37 degrees C and an optimum pH between 7.5 and 8.0. Optimal gro...

A Shift in Louisiana Salt Marsh Microbial Communities Reflecting Changes in Salinity and Biogeochemical Parameters

The relationship between microbial communities, salinity, soil depth, and time was evaluated using phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA) collected from coastal wetlands in Louisiana post hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The three marsh types studied included freshwater and intermediate marshes from the Jean Lafitte Preserve as well as two brackish marsh sites from the Caernarvon Basin. The Caernarvon Bas...

Proteolytic enzymes from extremely halophilic bacteria.

Halobacterium strains produce a truly extracellular proteinase which degrades gelatine and casein. It has a pH optimum of about 8 and depends upon divalent cations and a high concentration of NaCl or KC1 for activity and stability. Proteolytic enzymes were also found in cell homogenates obtained by ultra sonic treatment. A caseinolytic enzyme, probably different from the extracellular one, is a...

Diversity of Extremely Halophilic Archaeal and Bacterial Communities from Commercial Salts

Salting is one of the oldest food preservation techniques. However, salt is also the source of living halophilic microorganisms that may affect human health. In order to determine the microbial communities of commercial salts, an investigation were done using amplicon sequencing approach in four commercial salts: Ethiopian Afdera salt (EAS), Ethiopian rock salt (ERS), Korean Jangpan salt (KJS),...
