چکیده
While it is recognised that humans are constantly exposed to plastics, there limitations in understanding the extent of this exposure, particularly dietary exposure. This lack information partly due challenges with analysis complicated matrices. study aimed assess impact medium high lipid content (> 3%) food samples on accurate quantification polyethylene (PE), using pyrolysis-gas chromatography mass spectrometry, and develop an alternative sample processing strategy. Analysis saturated, monounsaturated polyunsaturated fats was demonstrated form same pyrolysis products as PE, producing a significant interference hindering quantification. An extraction protocol developed involves enzyme digestion break lipids into smaller chain fatty acids, removal these interferences pressurised liquid washes, before final PE by extraction. new method validated through three medium- high-fat foods: cow’s milk, eggs lamb meat, where recoveries were acceptable (104% 127%). Method detection limits also significantly reduced from 1.9 0.05 µg/injection (380 10 µg/g) protocol, matrix background. traces observed matrices 72-240 µg/g, compared extracted old concentrations 12-32 mg/g calculated, demonstrating potential for overestimation Finally, simple reported future studies (i) determine if present (ii) methods remove identified interferences.

Pyrolysis-GC/MS fingerprinting of environmental samples
This paper describes four recent applications of analytical pyrolysis in environmental science and engineering. In all applications, samples were analyzed in order to provide information about the origin of organic matter or changes to an organic matrix. In the first application, pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and pyrolysis-GC/flame ionization detection (FID) were used t...

The chemical composition of the Hydrolate of Citrus aurantium L. (Rutaceae) flowers (neroli) grown in Iran, and two commercial hydrolates were analyzed by GC/MS. Thirty compounds (90.3%) were identified in the Hydrolate by the use of laboratory apparatus, thirty-eight compounds (83.4%) in the Hydrolate from the traditional method and fifteen compounds (98.3%) in the industrially produced sample...

متن کاملComparison of GC-MS and GC×GC-MS in the analysis of human serum samples for biomarker discovery.
We compared the performance of gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC×GC-MS) for metabolite biomarker discovery. Metabolite extracts from 109 human serum samples were analyzed on both platforms with a pooled serum sample analyzed after every 9 biological samples for the purpose of quality control (QC...
