External fine particle removal for crystallization processes: Introduction and systematic comparison with the temperature cycling-based fines removal

چکیده

Intermittent small particle removal is frequently used for property improvement in batch crystallization processes. This generally solved by partial dissolution cycles, which a cooling translates to temperature cycles - well suited small-scale experimentation. However, implementing on larger scale may face technical difficulties. paper investigates concept fine removal, namely, the controlled external fines removal. Here, achieved an environment being attached crystallizer via recirculation stream. Simulation-based and internal compared. The population balance model involves primary secondary nucleation as crystal growth dissolution. A two-level control system developed: low-level PI controller sets vessel's temperature, whereas direct (DNC) alternates between based actual number density. demonstrates that fines’ results slightly but consistently particles narrower size distribution majority of cases. Under optimal conditions, leads shorter times, its convergence significantly less sensitive DNC settings e.g., heating/cooling rates. From energy utilization perspective, requires heating than configuration. configuration has great saving potential through heat integration during constant simultaneous duties exchanger match each other.

Multi-scale comparison of the fine particle removal capacity of urban forests and wetlands

As fine particle (FP) pollution is harmful to humans, previous studies have focused on the mechanisms of FP removal by forests. The current study aims to compare the FP removal capacities of urban forests and wetlands on the leaf, canopy, and landscape scales. Water washing and scanning electron microscopy are used to calculate particle accumulation on leaves, and models are used to estimate ve...

Ultrasonic and Megasonic Particle Removal

Particulate surface contamination is one of the major causes of low yields in the semiconductor and other affected industries. The theory of low frequency (ultrasonic) and high frequency (megasonic) cleaning will be presented. Ultrasonic cleaning (less than 100 kHz) is relevant to cleaning of optics and precision parts. Megasonic cleaning (0.8 to 1.2 MHz) is used in semiconductor manufacturing....

"comparison of nanofiltration and gac adsorption processes for chloroform removal from drinking water"

in this research, the chloroform (chcl3) removal effectiveness of two water treatment systems including membrane technology and granular activated carbon (gac) adsorption were studied. two bench-scales were designed and set up: 1) nanofiltration (nf) spiral-wound modules and 2) gac adsorption column. chloroform was considered as trihalomethanes (thms) basic indicator compound. the inlet and out...
