Extension of process limits in high strength aluminum forming by local contact heating

چکیده

The aluminum alloy EN AW-7075 T6 is used in the automotive sector for its favourable strength-to-weight ratio. However, limited cold formability currently addressed by energy- and time consuming temperature assisted processes. In order to limit effort critical forming areas only, state of art shows promising results increasing blank range warm forming. design new processes an industrial context requires appropriate numerical simulation with inherent complexity due dependent effects. this study, potential a newly developed tool setup process chain integrated local contact heating investigated on basis curved hat profile. A thermomechanically coupled FE model validated. influence layout analysed experimental tests corresponding window derived. occurring failure mechanisms discussed based results. equivalent plastic strain evolution successfully evaluate behaviour. significant increase overall part achieved proposed chain.
