چکیده
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a heterogeneous family of endopeptidases that play role in many physiological functions, including the immune response. An imbalance between activity MMPs and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) has been proposed pathophysiology different autoimmune disorders. We aimed to assess plasmatic levels MMP-2, MMP-9, TIMP-1 -2 patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Twenty CIDP 20 age- sex-matched healthy controls were enrolled. Plasma concentrations TIMP-1, TIMP-2 determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. subjects had higher MMP-9 along downregulation when compared controls, consequent increase MMP-9/TIMP-1 ratio (p<0.000002 for all measures). Conversely, concentration MMP-2 was lower group (p<0.01) without changes concentration. The MMP-2/TIMP-2 decreased patients’ (p<0.02). provide first preliminary evidence pattern TIMPs is markedly altered CIDP. Future studies needed potential usefulness these new biomarkers clinical setting.

Serum levels of matrix metalloproteinases-2 and -9 and their tissue inhibitors in inflammatory neuromuscular disorders.
We monitored serum levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) before and during intravenously applied immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy in 33 patients with chronic immune-mediated neuropathies and myopathies and 15 controls. Baseline MMP-2 and TIMP-2 serum levels were lower and MMP-9 and TIMP-1 serum levels higher in all patients compared to age-matched controls....
متن کاملvitrification affects the expression of matrix metalloproteinases and their tissue inhibitors of mouse ovarian tissue
background: one of the most major obstacles of ovarian tissue vitrification is suboptimal developmental competence of follicles. matrix metalloproteinases 2 (mmp-2) and 9 (mmp-9) and their tissue inhibitors timp-1 and timp-2 are involved in the remodeling of the extracellular matrix in the ovaries. objective: this study aimed to evaluate the expression of mmp-2, mmp-9, timp-1, and timp-2 genes ...
متن کاملChronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare neurological disease. Definitive therapy is not yet established. We report our use of intravenous Immunoglobulin (iv IgG) in two cases of CIDP and review the therapeutic options available. Intravenous IgG is a ubiquitous practical treatment particularly in patients who do not respond to steroids and where a rapid response is req...

متن کاملChronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is an acquired immune-mediated disease of the peripheral nervous system with a prevalence of 1-2/100,000. Clinical and experimental findings suggest a role of immune pathomechanisms;however, the target antigens are still unknown. Beside classic CIDP with symmetrical proximal and distal paresis, subgroups of CIDP with pure motor or sensory...
