چکیده
Background: Sulfur mustard as a chemical warfare agent causes short and long-term pulmonary complications in its victims. MicroRNAs are known to act remarkable regulators of biological pathways, monitoring, treatment diseases including respiratory problems. In this study, we investigated the expression miR-106a-5p miR-106b-5p, two TGF-β signaling, well their target molecule, TGFβ1I1, peripheral blood mononuclear cells from SM-exposed individuals. Materials Methods: A total 70 veterans with SM-induced were examined compared 35 gender age-matched healthy controls. After clinical examination function tests, severity was classified. Total RNA extracted PBMCs purity samples evaluated by NanoDrop 2000. The miR-106a-5p, TGFβ1I1 levels measured real-time RT-PCR. Results: significantly increased both mild (P=0.015) severe groups control group. miR-106b-5p considerably elevated group notably reduced Although, slight decrease observed control. Conclusion: Our results indicate that exposure sulfur affects gene, cells. Considering role regulation mentioned changes might point potential mechanism which SM chronic complications. ROC analysis, potentially turned out be suitable diagnostic biomarker categories patients. could considered better than miR-106b-5p.

Breast cancer is a complex genetic disease that has an average annual incidence of two million people and the second leading cause of death among women all over the world. Micro-RNAs are consistently reported to regulate gene expression in all cancers. The present study, the correlation between the expression of hsa-miR-490-5p and nuclear factor of activated T-cells 5 (NFAT5) in breast cancer w...

Objective(s): Multiple sclerosis (MS) is considered as a chronic type of an inflammatory disease characterized by loss of myelin of CNS.Recent evidence indicates that Interleukin 17 (IL-17)-producing T helper cells (Th17 cells) population are increased and regulatory T cells (Treg cells) are decreased in MS. Despite extensive research in understanding the mechanism of Th17 and Treg differentiat...
متن کاملNegative Regulation of Semaphorin-3A Expression in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Using MicroRNA-497-5p
Background: Semaphorin-3A (Sema3A), as a secreted semaphorin, is an immune modulator molecule participating in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) modulate the target-gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. It has been proposed that miRNAs may be crucial to the modulation of the function of semaphorins. Previous findings have proven that miR-497-5p is upregula...
متن کاملCXCL10 Gene Expression in the Lung Tissue of Sulfur Mustard-Exposed Patients with Long-Term Pulmonary Complications
Aims: Mustard gas is an alkalizing substance that can lead to damage to DNA and intracellular enzymes. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of CXCL10 in chemically-injured veterans’ lung tissue. Materials & Methods: This case-control study was done on 16 lung paraffin blocks of individuals exposed to mustard gas and 7 lungs paraffin blocks not-exposed people as...
متن کاملIncreased miR-424-5p expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with pemphigus
Pemphigus is an autoimmune disease that causes blisters and erosions in the skin and mucous membranes. The development of pemphigus is associated with the imbalance of T‑cell and humoral responses. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can regulate many cell functions. However, whether miRNA expression is altered in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) during the pathogenesis of pemphigus has not been clari...
