چکیده
Abstract In recent years, single-cell protein (SCP) has been considered a promising aquaculture feed to cope with the growing issue of food security. SCP is derived from microbes including algae, yeasts, and bacteria. Algae yeasts have comprehensively studied as sources in last few years. However, their large-scale application not yet economical. Recently, use purple non-sulfur bacteria (PNSB) realized sustainable source SCP. PNSB display unique metabolic features that distinguish them other sources. They can grow under various light electron donor/acceptor conditions, variety low-cost carbon sources, give high substrate yield preferred photoheterotrophic growth mode, demonstrate anti-pathogenic properties. also infrared region enables straightforward enrichment non-axenic conditions. Despite characteristics PNSB, widely reported. This review provides comprehensive knowledge about different factors influence quality quantity produced PNSB. The effects key light, redox trace metals, substrate, availability are discussed. Special focus given PNSBs concomitant role improving water quality. information would expand enhance understanding utilize an alternative for feed.

Modeling the electron transport chain of purple non-sulfur bacteria
Purple non-sulfur bacteria (Rhodospirillaceae) have been extensively employed for studying principles of photosynthetic and respiratory electron transport phosphorylation and for investigating the regulation of gene expression in response to redox signals. Here, we use mathematical modeling to evaluate the steady-state behavior of the electron transport chain (ETC) in these bacteria under diffe...
متن کاملDetection of Purple Sulfur Bacteria in Purple and Non-purple Dairy Wastewaters.
The presence of purple bacteria in manure storage lagoons is often associated with reduced odors. In this study, our objectives were to determine the occurrence of purple sulfur bacteria (PSB) in seven dairy wastewater lagoons and to identify possible linkages between wastewater properties and purple blooms. Community DNA was extracted from composited wastewater samples, and a conservative 16S ...
متن کاملBistablity in Fluorescence from a purple non-sulfur bacteria
Bistable optical emission has been observed for photosynthetic purple non-sulfur bacteria Rhodobacter capsulatus SB1003. The microbes respond to UV excitation (at 395nm) in a bifurcating way one branch corresponding to increase and the other corresponding to diminishing fluorescent emission in the range 590-685nm.The switching between such bifurcating branches can be observed when parameters li...

The Rieske protein from purple sulfur bacteria is an extrinsic protein.
The mode of membrane attachment of the Rieske iron-sulfur protein from cytochrome bc1 complex of Rhodospirillum rubrum has been studied using biochemical approaches. In contrast to cytochrome c1 the bacterial Rieske protein was extracted from chromatophores using chaotropic agents (NaSCN, urea, guanidine), an alkaline pH and relatively low concentration of Triton X-100. The results presented he...
