چکیده
Mint (Mentha) is a medicinal herb that has several bioactive components. One of the most significant herbal families, Lamiaceae, contains vast range plants having biological and therapeutic uses. The popular members this family are aromatic herbs spices, including thyme, mint, oregano, basil, sage, rosemary, self-heal, hyssop, lemon balm, few others with more restricted All around world, it been used as food flavouring agent. Since, there phenolic acids flavonoids present, assumed to contain antioxidants. Although they flavourings in food, their antibacterial antioxidant capabilities what make them so valuable. In general, peppermint oil its numerous derivatives mouthwash, sweets, alcoholic liqueurs, ice cream, teas, chewing gum, cough drops, toothpaste, jellies, syrups, confections, insect repellents, detergents, soaps. Based on research, current article reviews components health benefits mint. provides thorough assessment peppermint's antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-asthmatic, anti-headache, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, spasmolytic, radioactive properties. Therefore, research studies have lot potential future, must be for human growth. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates about 80% world's population still primarily uses plant-based medications.

Over recent years, nosocomial infections, and the morbidity and mortality associated with pathogenic bacteria have dramatically increased due to antibiotic resistance and imposed significant burdens on the global health system. Critical shortage of effective therapeutics against multidrug-resistant bacteria highlights the need for development of novel antibiotics. Actinobacteria are well-known...
متن کاملPhenolic compounds and their health benefits: A review
Accepted: 29/06/2014 Abstract Phenolic compounds, ubiquitous in plants, are essential part of human diet. Major polyphenolic compounds found in plants are flavonoids, catechins, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), flavonones, iso-flavones, flavanols, anthocyanins, phenolic acids, stilbenes, flavonoids, chalcones, lignans etc. These compounds are secondary plant metabolites and possess antimicrob...
متن کاملExploring marine resources for bioactive compounds.
Biodiversity in the seas is only partly explored, although marine organisms are excellent sources for many industrial products. Through close co-operation between industrial and academic partners, it is possible to successfully collect, isolate and classify marine organisms, such as bacteria, fungi, micro- and macroalgae, cyanobacteria, and marine invertebrates from the oceans and seas globally...
متن کاملExploring novel bioactive compounds from marine microbes.
The historical paradigm of the deep ocean as a biological 'desert' has shifted to one of a 'rainforest' owing to the isolation of many novel microbes and their associated bioactive compounds. Recently, there has been an explosion of information about novel bioactive compounds that have been isolated from marine microbes in an effort to further explore the relatively untapped marine microbes and...
