Explicitation Strategies of Beginner and Professional Translators in Sight Translated Texts Interpreted by Relevance Theory

چکیده

In this paper, we present a study in which investigated the explicitation strategies of beginner, inexperienced and practicing, professional translators sight translated texts (STTs). Research shows that (TTs) are longer than non-translated (non-TTs) parallel texts. The reason for is explicate, i.e. they explain hidden, implicit message text. explanation, insertion, repetition, paraphrasing used as strategies. One reasons target language reader has different cultural backgrounds, consequently, may not always know background source text, or original text be clear enough, therefore, translator to it. other seek safe, so will content even when it necessary. examined translation beginner translators, was assumed both groups use strategies, same since feature all translations, regardless level experience translator. Our research results supported our hypotheses, appeared by translators. However, also been found, more repetition paraphrasing, explained their inadequate competences.
