Experiments on the Sinking of Marine Pipelines on Clayey Soils

An experimental study was carried out to investigate seabed-pipeline interactions with regard soil liquefaction. For a high proportion (30 60%) of fine sediment, four groups tests were configured reproduce liquefaction around pipelines for different initial pipe depths, densities and wave conditions (wave height period). The focused on verifying the theoretically computed areas failure by analyzing sinking depths pipelines. main findings are that submerged specific weight less than half will move up mudline; loss loading capacity is more frequently evidenced in fluid-like behavior an abrupt breaking matrix; pipes which totally buried sink half-buried pipes. Moreover, action seem play important roles expected wave–soil–pipe interaction water content mud.
