چکیده

Purpose: To experimentally validate the Fastcat cone beam CT (CBCT) simulator against kV and MV CBCT images acquired with a Varian Truebeam linac. Methods: of Catphan 504 phantom were using 100 kVp on-board imager (OBI) 6 treatment electronic portal imaging device (EPID), respectively. The simulation was performed detailed models x-ray source, bowtie filter, high resolution voxelized virtual phantom, anti-scatter grid, CsI scintillating detector. Likewise, an simulated for energy spectrum, flattening GOS Experimental compared respect to HU values, contrast noise ratio (CNR),and dose linearity. Detector modulation transfer function (MTF) two detectors also validated. Fastcat's calculations MC Topas. Results: For simulations, respectively: Contrast agreed within 14 9 HUs detector MTF 4.2% 2.5%. CNR had root mean squared error (RMSE) 2.6% 1.4%. Dose 2.4% 1.6% values. took 71 72 seconds simulate in 887 493 projections, Conclusions: We present multi experimental validation fast accurate commercial is open source all found this work can be downloaded from https://github.com/jerichooconnell/fastcat.git

A performance comparison of flat-panel imager-based MV and kV cone-beam CT.

The use of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has been proposed for guiding the delivery of radiation therapy, and investigators have examined the use of both kilovoltage (kV) and megavoltage (MV) x-ray beams in the development of such CBCT systems. In this paper, the inherent contrast and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance for a variety of existing and hypothetical detectors for CBCT ar...

Assessment of image quality and dose calculation accuracy on kV CBCT, MV CBCT, and MV CT images for urgent palliative radiotherapy treatments

A clinical workflow was developed for urgent palliative radiotherapy treatments that integrates patient simulation, planning, quality assurance, and treatment in one 30-minute session. This has been successfully tested and implemented clinically on a linac with MV CBCT capabilities. To make this approach available to all clin-ics equipped with common imaging systems, dose calculation accuracy b...

Volume-of-interest cone-beam CT using a 2.35 MV beam generated with a carbon target.

PURPOSE This is a proof-of-concept study addressing volume of interest (VOI) cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging using an x-ray beam produced by 2.35 MeV electrons incident on a carbon linear accelerator target. Methodology is presented relevant to VOI CBCT image acquisition and reconstruction. Sample image data are given to demonstrate and compare two approaches to minimizing artifacts arising from re...

SU-E-J-33: Geometric Agreement Check for Imaging System with Radiation Beam by KV and MV-CBCT.

PURPOSE The verification method of the geometry agreement between a light field and/or a laser coordinate and treatment beam should be easy and quick. In this presentation, we propose a novel QA method by using both kV- and MV-CBCT for kV-IGRT system. This method confirms the temporal unchanging the agreement of geometry in the kV-IGRT system with the treatment beam geometry. METHODS 1) MV-fl...

Mega Voltage Cone Beam Computed Tomography (MV- CBCT) using a Standard Medical Linear Accelerator and EPID: A feasibility study.

Introduction: The success of radiotherapy cancer treatment delivery depends on the accuracy of patient positioning for each treatment session. A number of kilovoltage x-ray volumetric imaging modalities with an additional source and detector have been developed to allow patient set-up verification based on the internal anatomy, but a significant portion of medical linacs are on...
