Experimental Study on Landslides in Terraced Fields in the Chinese Loessial Region under Extreme Rainfall

Due to the development of scale tractor-ploughed terraces, terraces have been increasing in number, while global climate change is causing frequent extreme rainfall events Loess Plateau, resulting many terrace landslides. To study mechanism and process shallow landslides deep slip surface induced by loess hill gully area, we conducted a laboratory model test under artificial used Swedish arc strip method. The research results are as follows. rill erosion accelerating infiltration, suspending slope, its bulk density. destruction can be roughly divided into six processes, earth volume landslide 0.24 m3. sliding occurs combined action water gravity erosion. soil moisture content increases, which decreases anti-sliding moment increases moment, safety factor becomes less than allowable limit for terraces. deformation area was 0~1.0 m below slope surface, radius 1.43 m, angle 92°, began form earlier terraced displacement characteristic points increased from top, center, foot, with maximum displacements 40.3, 15.5, 6.0 mm, respectively.
